introducing…

professional commercial & corporate dance entertainment!

With a dash of Paris, a splash of Las Vegas and a hint of New York, High Kix Cabaret is the hottest and most glamorous entertainment to ever hit Canberra! Performances combine traditional cabaret with a modern twist led by former Moulin Rouge dancer & International showgirl, Kym Degenhart and NYC performer (including Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring the Rockettes), Amy Orman.

The High Kix Cabaret follies & Tap Kix Hoofers have combined to create this stunning new company filled with professional dancers, singers and performing artists: Kix Arts Productions.

Our showgirls have been handpicked and trained by International entertainment experts. The kick line consists of glamorous ladies whose individual personalities will entertain and excite all audiences. There is nothing risqué about this group - it is pure elegance with a hint of cheeky fun!

Our tap dancers love to play around with rhythm, beats and experiment with sound. They enjoy the challenge of blending traditional tap with modern street tap and combining this with an artistic and entertaining twist!

AMY ORMAN. CREATIVE DIRECTOR.

Amy Orman has performed around the world in theatre, television and film. A true triple threat, she began her professional career at the age of 19 performing as a singer and dancer with Princess Cruises. After her adventures on the seas, she relocated to the US to study a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre at The Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University where she graduated with honours. She has also completed her Australasian Dance Association (formerly F.A.T.D) teaching and dance exams.

Her professional Chicago theatre credits include Merrily We Roll Along starring Tony Award winner Jessie Mueller, White Christmas starring Tony-nominated Sean Allan Krill, Hairspray featuring Tim Kazurinski, The Who’s Tommy, Annie, Guys and Dolls, and multiple productions of 42nd Street.

The highlight of her time in Chicago was a production of Smoky Joe’s Cafe directed by Tony-nominated Marcia Milgrom-Dodge and attended by composer Mike Stoller himself. The nine-person cast won the award for Best Ensemble at the 2016 Joseph Jefferson Awards.

Shortly after moving to NYC Amy joined the cast of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular Starring the Rockettes as a singer. She performed for three seasons with the holiday favourite for over a million audience attendees.

Amy has also worked in TV & Film, Print, and Commercials with credits including Betrayal (ABC US), Wakefield (ABC Australia), Sensodyne, Weber Grill, All State Insurance, Miller Lite, and the voice of Princess Amelia in Uppercut Games' video game Epoch 2.

In between performing opportunities, Amy has worked as a teacher of dance, drama and singing. Her most rewarding experience as an educator came with choreographing and directing for the Chicago-based not-for-profit organisation, After School Matters. Working with inner-city teens, they created productions of Hairspray, In The Heights, and Once On This Island.

After relocating to the Canberra region in 2019, Amy has spent her time primarily as an educator. She has directed and choreographed productions of Annie, Legally Blonde, Elf and The Drowsy Chaperone with students ranging in age from as young as 8 and to 35. In 2023 Amy choreographed a critically acclaimed production, The Hello Girls for Heartstrings Theatre Company at The Canberra Theatre followed by a 2024 season at The Hayes Theatre Co. in Sydney.

Amy believes that theatre, dance and the arts are an important exploration for students of all ages. She loves watching them grow not only on stage but off as it teaches confidence, commitment, communication skills and team work.
